SO, WHAT IS WEDDING PHOTOJOURNALISM ANYWAY?
It's an artful approach without the subject being aware of the camera. Simply put, it means when the photographer senses, anticipates, then documents moments as a journalist without talking, changing the scene, reporting the naturally discovered events. Clients tell me they appreciate my style for quietly observing, then shooting and not stopping them for pictures. You'll certainly see me, but just not a 'in your face' manner.
The camera is an extension of my mind and eye. The perfect moment may only be a fleeting second, but I'll know I'll have got a great shot. My photographs capture the emotional bonds between family and friends. Real moments, real smiles and real tears in images that don't look like everyone else's. I shoot predominately with natural light and without interruptions. Of course, some formal photos are expected and I will happily accommodate additional requests when asked.
